We turn our attention away from the Premier League this week as the ‘dreaded’ international break is once again upon us. This week I turn my attention to the International Rugby card on offer, and run through the headline bets I will be placing, but also booing from the trading floor at Gamblr.

England vs New Zealand

The Kiwi juggernaut keeps rolling on and this weekend will be no different. England will be without key men in Freeman and Chessum, and with a lightweight back row by International standards, quick ball will be hard to come by for the Red Roses. It’s a strong England bench however, but will the cards of Pollock and Cunningham-South (who played age group rugby in NZ) been marked already, potentially making an impression too late in the game for my liking; but also more than likely be shepherded out the game by a street smart NZ team.

NZ to win @ 2.00

Wales vs Japan

Everyone’s favourite team outside the traditional powerhouses – the cherry blossoms are one hell of a well oiled machine. Each player knowing their exact task and how to execute it at top level. Wales are poor. They are in a proper re build with a new coach, and some key injuries to an already weak nation. Japan have been over in Europe for a while now and the ‘jet lag’ out the legs will be no more. Japan will run a confused and wounded Wales close here. Wales will win but Japan on the h’cap is the play.

Japan +12.5 @ 1.83

Ireland vs Australia

Australia looked bad against Italy. Granted they will probably never play that badly again but the miles clocked up over a long season is catching up with them – let’s not forget the Lions tests that happened this year too! The travel and long season with many injuries will mean Ireland will be too strong. Ireland greased up the wheels against Japan and never came out of 3rd gear. Ireland will be too quick, powerful, and FRESH for a very sad aussie team.

Ireland -10.5 @ 1.83

Scotland vs Argentina

The match of the weekend for me! Who would have thought it? Argentina coming off a record win against the Welsh but also turning into a proper rugby nation. Their 7s team are world champiaons so the pedigree is there! But also Scotland leaving it too late against the kiwis but have been quietly building over the year… Both play some super sexy attacking rugby and expect a high scoring match. I will be on Scotland, as Murrayfield is a hard place to play especially with the slight damp midweek forecast. The Scottish crowd always bring the best out of a unshackled Scottish team. Expect fireworks!

Scotland -2.5 @ 1.83
