Chelsea win or draw @ 1.45

Chelsea welcome Barcelona to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening, with the pair clashing under the bright lights. The Blues enjoy home advantage, and fans hope to see their heroes make it count. The locals enter the week in 12th place after four games. The Club World Cup champions have two wins, one draw, and a defeat, scoring nine but conceding six.

Barcelona may be on the road, but the Spanish La Liga giants will enjoy a decent following in the Big Smoke. Barca are level with their opponents on seven points, after winning two, drawing one, and losing the spare. They’ve notched a dozen goals and conceded seven, giving them a better goal difference and a higher position in the table.

There’s all to play for here, with the winning team catapulting itself up the pecking order and towards an automatic spot in the finals. Chelsea are unbeaten in three, winning two and drawing their last game. They also haven’t lost a home match to Barca in four, a run that stretches back to October 2006. That purple patch consists of two 1-0 home wins and a couple of 1-1 draws. Chelsea or draw gets things moving at a fair price.

Bayern Munich beat Arsenal @ 3.25

The current Champions League leaders visit their nearest rivals in a showdown that should produce the eventual league phase winner. Arsenal welcome Bayern Munich to the Emirates Stadium, with both the Gunners and the Bavarians boasting 100% records. As the old saying goes in boxing – someone’s 0 has to go – and we can’t wait for this heavyweight slugfest.

Arsenal are going great guns, sitting on top of the Premier League table heading towards an important festive period. They’re also within touching distance of a place in the knockout stages of this tournament. Bayern Munich are one of the betting favourites to win the UCL trophy again next spring, and have started brightly. The visitors have played four, won four, scored 14 goals and conceded three.

Arsenal bring a better defence than their rivals, and thrashed Tottenham in Sunday’s North London derby. It’s worth knowing that Munich haven’t lost to Arsenal in five games. That run goes back to 2015 and includes three 5-1 wins for the Germans. I’m expecting another entertaining 90 minutes, but we side with Harry Kane and co in the match-winner market.

PSG beat Tottenham @ 1.41

The third pick from our midweek treble is for the current competition champions to beat an opponent fresh from a weekend derby beating. Tottenham were hammered by rivals Arsenal in the EPL, and now visit Paris and PSG. It’s not looking good for Spurs, and I make PSG a confident pick to bag a fourth win in five games.

Luis Enrique’s stars have nine points on the board, scored 14 goals and conceded five. Those numbers make the home side the UCL’s highest scorers so far, level with Bayern Munich. That will strike fear into a visiting defence that has already given up seven goals this month in all competitions. Tottenham opened November with a 1-0 home loss to Chelsea. They then did as expected when beating Copenhagen, before sharing four goals with Manchester United. Spurs were last seen in action losing 4-1 at Arsenal.

The away team are battered and bruised. Yes, they show decent form in this competition and will want to bounce back with a positive result, but they’re up against an opponent who takes no prisoners. It’s worth remembering that PSG lost their last Champions League game, meaning the players and coaching staff will be under pressure to get back on track as quickly as possible.

Champions League treble

A $100 treble on Chelsea not to lose at home to Barcelona, Bayern Munich to beat Arsenal, and PSG to defeat Tottenham Hotspur pays £606 if all results land. That includes $12.65 worth of extra winnings from Gamblr.
