From the selections above, I’ll now provide my weekend predictions.
Seattle moneyline
Our opening bet on matchweek four is the Seattle Sounders on the Moneyline. Our pick start the match at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, placed third in the NFC West. They’ve won two and lost one, winning one from two games at home and taking their one previous road trip. Seattle face an Arizona side one place above in the pecking order, but have also won two and lost one so far.
When betting on the moneyline, you have a one-in-two chance of winning and making a profit. Bet on Seattle, and if they deliver a victory, you’ll receive the profits. But if Arizona wins to delight the home fans, your bet loses. It’s the easiest way to gamble on any match from this weekend’s NFL programme.
Seattle dominate Arizona on the recent head-to-head stats and have already shown they travel well. The Cardinals have their fair share of early-season injury problems. James Conner is the most notable absentee, with the fans’ favourite suffering an injury that should keep him on the sidelines until at least the end of the current season. Take Seattle to win and play it safe with a bet on the moneyline.
Seattle win @ 1.83 (Gamblr)
New England moneyline
Our second pick is one you can follow as a single or add to the above bet to create an NFL parlay. The New England Patriots face off against the Carolina Panthers at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. Gamblr traders have the Patriots as red-hot betting favourites, and it’s difficult to argue against that stance. They have the right team picked, and I’m happy to follow their thinking.
New England started the weekend sitting second in the AFC East behind the Buffalo Bills after three games. NE have won only one match so far, but that positive came on the road. They’ve lost twice at home, scored 60 points, but conceded 68. They must be firing to beat a Panthers team with the same results in the NFC South.
Despite unconvincing early-season form, New England are moving in the right direction. Their attack is showing promising signs and seems like it’s about to click. Weaknesses in defence will ensure a competitive match, but the Patriots’ crisp passing will be key to victory. Back the Panthers to do their bit in a fantastic game, before New England steal the show.
New England moneyline @ 1.4 (Gamblr)
Buffalo -16 handicap
Our third pick of the weekend sees us stray into the specials, backing the Buffalo Bills -16 on the handicap vs New Orleans Saints at Highmark Stadium. Like above, you need Buffalo to win the match, but with this bet, you also require them to cover the -16 points handicap. If the Bills win by 17 points or more, your bet lands. If New Orleans wins or Buffalo by 15 points or less, your bet loses. There’s more work involved here, but the odds are higher.
Buffalo kick-off perched on top of the AFC East following three wins from as many games. They’ve won both previous home games this season, adding another victory on the road. Despite being one of only a few teams still holding a 100% record, the Bills are showing no signs of slowing down. They’re worth supporting until they give us a reason to look elsewhere. Buffalo is a confident pick.
Much of the credit for Buffalo’s winning start must go to their offence. The attacking players will be licking their lips ahead of a meeting with a defence that has already conceded 90 points in three defeats. If this match goes as expected, it’s not a question of if Buffalo wins, but by how many points. The handicap will be challenging, but if the Bills take control early, they’ll make mincemeat of a nervy Saints defence.
Super Bowl betting odds
Buffalo Bills @ 5.25
Baltimore Ravens @ 6.5
Green Bay Packers @ 8.5
Philadelphia Eagles @ 8.5
Detroit Lions @ 12.0
