Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois clash in a fascinating heavyweight unification fight at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening. The home of English football will be packed to capacity for the opening bell of this winner-takes-all battle. Usyk risks his three belts to win the one currently in the possession of Dynamite.

Usyk is an unbeaten fighter from Ukraine who has already made light work of British boxing favourites Tony Bellew, Derek Chisora, Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury and Daniel Dubois. Is the all-conquering hitman about to add another big win? Dubois doesn’t possess the same pristine CV, but he packs a punch and had his opponent on the canvas in Poland when the pair first crossed paths.

If you can’t make it to Wembley for fight night, you can follow all the action live on TV with the main event supported by a competitive undercard. Fancy targeting a profit while you enjoy the bouts? Usyk form and figures

Oleksandr Usyk returns to London with a professional boxing record standing at 23 fights and 23 wins, with 14 victories coming inside the distance. The 6’3” southpaw is a former unified world champion at cruiserweight. Having made the division his own, Usyk vowed to collect all the belts in the top category. Critics claimed he was too small to play with the big boys, but the London 2012 gold medallist made them eat their words.

Since moving to heavyweight, Usyk has stopped Chazz Witherspoon, beaten Derek Chisora on points, did the double over Anthony Joshua, stopped Daniel Dubois in nine rounds, and ended a war of words with Tyson Fury by beating the Englishman twice on the scorecards. The victory over Triple D was far from convincing, meaning Usyk must settle another score. Beating Dubois in good fashion would prove Oleksandr is king of the division by a distance.

Do you expect Usyk to add another win and title to his reign? He is the betting favourite and has the skills to live up to expectations. Having already KO’d Dubois, the traders’ confidence in the champion is understandable.

Dubois form and figures

Daniel Dubois makes the short journey from his home to Wembley Stadium as the underdog with bookmakers, most boxing writers, and the majority of fight fans. You’d be forgiven for thinking he is the challenger, but Daniel brings the IBF world heavyweight championship belt he won by knocking out Anthony Joshua at this iconic stadium last summer. It’s worth noting Dubois was also a rank outsider against his more experienced opponent, but the Londoner used his power to rip up the script.

Dubois has boxed 24 times as a professional, winning all but two of his previous outings. The 27-year-old Englishman carries an earth-shattering 95% KO average after knocking out 21 of his 22 victims. Interestingly, Daniel’s two defeats have come inside the distance, proving he’s an all-or-nothing fighter who leaves everything in the ring. He’ll either deck his opponent for a ten-count or be counted out himself. That’s why he’s such a popular fighter: you can never be sure what you’ll get from Triple D.

Fancy Dubois to cause another upset and blow the heavyweight division wide open? You can take a chance on the underdog with bite, backing Dubois to keep all the titles in London, paving the way for an all-British showdown with Tyson Fury.

Usyk vs Dubois predictions

Predicting the outcome of Usyk vs Dubois II won’t be easy. As is often the case with heavyweight boxing, anything can happen. It wouldn’t surprise anyone to see Usyk box his way to a comfortable points win. It wouldn’t be the biggest shock of the year to see Dynamite bank another showreel KO to set up a trilogy. Saturday’s main event blends the polished skills of Usyk with the raw power of Dubois. But Usyk can punch, and Dubois can box.

I’m happy to place my trust in the trends and take Usyk to win on points. He’s the smaller man with the shorter reach, but he’s an expert at finding his distance early and using it to score crisp southpaw jabs while avoiding the big shots of his opponent. He’s quick, has a great defence, and his boxing IQ is second to none. We can’t take much from the first fight, as the knockdown and low blow changed everything.

I expect another scrappy contest, with Daniel forcing the pace and working hard to close the distance. That’s easier said than done against the Ukrainian champion. You can back Usyk in the fight-winner market, but he’s favourite and the odds mean it’s a bet that’s best suited to your fight night accumulators. If you’re after more attractive odds, you’ll find them in the method of victory market.

Predicting Usyk to win is fine, but you can really show your boxing knowledge by saying how he’ll get the victory: on points or by stoppage. He KO’d Dubois last time, but felt his power, and I expect Oleksandr to avoid a shootout at all costs. He’s far too experienced and clever to be drawn into a war with such a destructive opponent. Back the points win for Usyk.
